I grew up in the Wichita Falls area and have been blessed to belong to a friendly neighborhood. I would not agree that I do not identify with my metropolitan region because I have been greatly influenced by my surroundings and how we interacted. Having a culturally and socially diverse neighborhood, I learned to be respectful, tolerant, and proud to belong to times when there is acceptance among the residents. Our community reflected the mini version of the entire metropolitan, bustling with an active social life and activities.
